Media Box MP4 Player Review

In a world dominated by Apple, it’s nice to see a relatively unknown UK company offer up a product in the PMP market, a market which the UK has never been eager to enter in the past. The Media Box might not have the marketing power or the ‘desirability’ of an Apple product, but it’s actually a surprisingly powerful piece of kit that’s not only significantly cheaper than an iPod Nano, but boasts a much wider range of features to boot.

Coming in 8GB or 16GB flavours, sizes between the Nano and Media Box are matched, and it’s a shame to see no hard drive option to give more space to people who have a large music collection. However, 8Gb and 16GB should be more than enough for many people offering a huge 60 hours of video or 4,000 songs – more than enough for even the longest plane flight or holiday.

Luckily there plenty of features in the Media Box which are very desirable. The Media Box mp4 player totally outshines just about every other portable media system on the market in terms of battery life, and will continue going for about 15 hours longer than an iPod Nano when watching movies, making the system far more suited to times when you might not have access to somewhere to charge everything up – which is after all the entire idea behind a portable system.

Add in a huge array of other features this neat little mp4 Player, and even a digital video camera and you’ve got a very capable and surprisingly attractive device that beats the equivalent apple product at every level. If you’re looking into buying a PMP, you might not see Sonix7 on many ‘top ten’ lists but trust us, it’s worth looking into, not least because it’s great step for the UK tech industry.
